Romance ripens at Ivy Lane...

Tilly Parker is feeling happier than she has done since her life completely changed a year ago, though she's still keeping some secrets to herself. As she flourishes under the summer sun, she attracts the attention of not one, but two suitors. Excitement reaches fever pitch at Ivy Lane as a TV crew descends to capture life inside a modern-day allotment, bringing out the best (new wellies and lipstick) and the worst (parsnip rivalry) in them all. The Annual Show marks the end of summer and the end of filming, but is Tilly ready for romance - and if so, who will be the pick of the bunch?

My thoughts

Ivy Lane is a serialized novel told in four parts - taking you from spring to summer, autumn to winter - which tell a charming, light-hearted and moving story you won't want to put down. Ivy Lane: Autumn will be released on 4th September 2014.

Time has passed so quickly since April. I couldn't believe it's already July and the release date of Ivy Lane: Summer. It felt like if I had read the first part of the Ivy Lane series just a few days ago.

Ivy Lane Summer begins where Ivy Lane Spring left us. The Ivy Lane allotment owners are all aflutter. A TV crew arrives in Ivy Lane. They want to follow the Ivy Lane allotment owners all over the summer. They looked for real lives, real people, not made-up for the camera. That's what they get in Ivy Lane. Tilly, the main character in the Ivy Lane series, is the only one who is not very happy about this attention. Without even realising it she is a big part of the show. Tilly had taken on the allotment to fill a space in her heart. After some difficulties in the beginning her plot is now well-cared, blooming healthy, which she is so proud of but her releationships with other people were still sadly lacking. She has her difficulties to open up to people. While the story developes. Tilly open up more and more to the Ivy Lane owners. It was time to let people back in her heart. Tilly is still hiding her past. The reader gets a few hints here and there but we still don't know who James is and how ishe is connected to him. It's such a tease. This makes the book a brilliant page turner. With the TV Crew also arrives a very handsome director called Aidan. Tilly is not admitting it first but she is attracted to him. Love. That was what was missing from her life. Is she ready for a new romance yet?

Cathy knows how to write a cliff hanger! I feel so desperat that I can't read further to see what did happend in Tilly's past.  I cannot wait until 4th September to see what is going on. I enjoyed reading this part more then the first one. It was very easy for me to get into the story. I loved to read about Tillys personal development. It was great finding out more and more of the secondary characters like Gemma and her rebellious daughter Mia.

This is a perfect book to take with you to your garden on a sunny summer day. Easy to read, heart-warming storyline, well drawn characters.

When I was younger my family and I often visited relatives in their allotment. We had lovely BBQ's in the summer. I always dreamed of having an allotment like that. The only problem is I'm not really having a green thumb. I don't own much plants because they are all dying. I just forget to look after the.

After reading Ivy Lane: Spring, it encouraged me to start growing something even it's just something little. Since I live in a flat with a balcony it's not very easy to grown anything but I give me best! A friend of mine, who is very into gradening, gave me scions of pointed pepper. I'm really proud See what they look like now.
